If you are debating it then don’t. If you have a cheaper rotary then swap. If this is on a lightening deal then grab it. I have been using a Philips rotary shaver for the last few years – not a particularly expensive one – but it isn’t even vaguely in the same league as the Series 7. I was debating whether I should purchase this and had seen the series 9 on a lightening deal before Christmas but didn’t take the plunge as I mistakenly thought that it would come up in post Christmas sales. Recently the series 7 was on a lightening deal and I went for it. I had always noticed that the average score for the series 7 was better than the 9 and the price of the series 9 hadn’t moved a great deal – whereas the 7 deal was excellent.I know that when using new shavers they initially shave close with the blades at their sharpest. It is not perfect in the corners of the mouth, but you don’t find yourself during the day feeling aware that the shaver “missed a bit” – that has a value. It also gives a comfortable and quick shave – as long as the alcohol based cleaning fluid has dried off!It is “Big”, but that does mean that it is easy to grasp and you don’t accidentally switch it off in use (which happened with the Cruzer). The “charging and cleaning base” is also big – it won’t fit on most bathroom shelves (think about the size of a big 2ltr bottle of milk, but about half the height…
